Help Using The Books

The new JazzKids series is pretty straight forward and esy to use. Here are some tips though:

  • The series is designed for use as supplemental material. The books will work with any reading curriculum.
  • Feel free to "float" in the book. You do not need to go in order. You can start with the rhythms, skip to the improvisation then teach the song. There is no "right way" of teaching the program, it is what works best for you and your students.
  • Have students use the cd at home. Think of the CD as your "assistant teacher" to work with the student at home.
  • If students are having trouble with the ear training section on the CD, do it in their lesson instead.
  • Download the JAZZKIDS IN 5 worksheet for some ideas on how to integrate JazzKids into your weekly lessons with just 5 minutes.
